It's a board-to-cable/wire style header, shrouded on all four walls, with a keying slot to prevent mis-mating. The latch lock/eject hooks give a positive mechanical lock when mated — you'll hear it click home, and it stays put under vibration.
Termination is solder, surface-mount — the square pins (phosphor bronze) sit flush on the board pads. The post side gets 100 µinch tin, which is standard for solder joint reliability.
