2.54mm Pitch, 7-Position SMT Header — What It Connects To
The 54201-G0807ALF: The tin-plated posts are for the solder joint, not the mating interface. Surface mount termination means this header is reflow-soldered onto the PCB. The Pick and Place feature adds a vacuum-pickup area for automated assembly — the header is delivered on Tape & Reel or Cut Tape for the pick-and-place line.
Unshrouded Design — No Keying, No Polarization
This mates with any standard 2.54mm pitch socket that has a 0.100" (2.54mm) insulation height clearance — typical IDC sockets, crimp housings, or board-to-board receptacles. The trade-off is no polarization: the header can be mated in either orientation, so the harness designer must rely on the socket's own keying or a secondary alignment feature. The push-pull fastening means the mating pair is held by friction only — no latch, no lock. In a vibration environment, a locking socket or a dab of connector adhesive is worth considering.
RoHS Compliant.
