Contact Plating and Current Rating — Signal-Duty Interconnect
The mating contacts carry gold flash plating over a copper alloy base. Gold flash keeps initial contact resistance low for signal-level circuits, but the thin layer means the connector is rated for fewer mating cycles than a thicker gold deposit — plan for occasional rather than frequent reconnections. The solder tails are tin-plated, which is standard for wave-solder or hand-solder assembly. This current rating is typical for signal interconnect on control boards, sensor interfaces, or low-power data lines — not for power distribution.
