The mating surface carries 30.0 µinch (0.76 µm) gold over nickel, designated GXT™ — a hard gold alloy rated for 500 mating cycles minimum. In a test fixture or modular instrument where boards are swapped weekly, that is decades of reliable contact without fretting corrosion. The solder tails are tin-plated (78.7 µinch / 2.00 µm), which wets well during reflow and is compatible with standard SAC305 solder paste.
