The push-pull fastening gives a positive tactile lock when seated.

Through-hole solder termination – the 0.105" (2.67 mm) post length is long enough to clear a standard 1.6 mm PCB and still leave a visible fillet on the solder side. The housing is glass-filled polyester rated UL94 V-0 – it will not sustain flame inside an enclosure. The keying slot prevents mismating with a non-keyed counterpart, which is a practical safeguard on a multi-harness panel. The black insulation color is standard for signal-level interconnects.
