Gold/GXT™ Plating and Mating Cycle Life
The 66506-242LF: The mating contacts carry 30 µinch gold or GXT™ over phosphor bronze. At that thickness, the interface is rated for several hundred mating cycles without exposing the base metal — in a field-service connector that gets cycled quarterly, that is decades of reliable contact. The GXT™ option is a palladium-nickel alloy that resists fretting corrosion in high-vibration environments better than gold alone.
