Unshrouded Design: What It Means for Mating and Routing
This is an unshrouded header — the pins are fully exposed above the housing. There is no plastic shroud to guide or polarize the mating receptacle, so the mating half must align on its own. The trade-off: unshrouded headers take less board space and allow lower stack heights than shrouded equivalents, but they offer no keying protection against misalignment.
