The 68021-114HLF: The 3 A per contact rating is the thermal limit at the contact interface; in a dense board with limited airflow, derate to 2.5 A per contact to keep the temperature rise under the UL94 V-0 housing ceiling.
The phosphor bronze base material provides good spring properties and resists stress relaxation over temperature.
The 68021-116HLF is a 16-position version of the same right-angle, dual-row, unshrouded header. If your BOM calls for 14 positions, the 16-position part will not fit without a board layout change — the extra two positions extend the footprint.
This is a board-to-board header (unshrouded male pins). For wire-to-board, you would need a crimp housing and terminals — this header alone does not accept discrete wires.
