Right-Angle BERGSTIK II — 14 Pins at 0.100" Pitch
The 68021-414HLF: All 14 positions are loaded, so there are no empty holes to confuse wire routing or receptacle alignment.
Current, Temperature, and Contact Plating
Each contact is rated 3 A at the stated ambient temperature. Because the header is unshrouded and relies on natural convection, derating is needed when more than half the circuits carry current simultaneously — the total power dissipation across 14 pins at 3 A each is about 1.3 W (assuming 15 mOhm contact resistance), which the V-0 housing can handle without softening. The 100 µinch tin mating finish is a heavy-duty tin plate — good for 50-100 mating cycles in a cost-sensitive build, but not for frequent field reconnection where gold would be better.
The tin-plated posts solder well with SnPb or lead-free SAC alloys. The 0.100" row spacing matches the pin pitch, so the dual-row footprint is a simple 2 x 7 grid with 2.54 mm between rows — no staggered drilling needed.
