The Amphenol FCI 68023-236HLF is a BERGSTIK® II series unshrouded male header, 36 positions in a single row on the standard 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch. The square male pins are phosphor bronze with a gold or GXT™ finish at 15.0µin (0.38µm) on the mating surface, rated for 5A per contact at 110V. The black UL94 V-0 housing carries the push-pull fastening typical of unshrouded headers — no latch, just friction retention from the receptacle.
The 0.100" pitch is the de facto industry standard — any board already routed for a legacy 0.100" header accepts this footprint without a layout change. 36 positions on a single row means the header spans about 3.6" of board edge; check that your enclosure or card edge has that clearance before committing. The 5A per-contact rating sits above typical signal-only headers (usually 1-3A) but below power-grade connectors — it handles modest power distribution or dense I/O clusters, not bus-level current. The 15µin gold or GXT plating is the workhorse grade for repeated mating cycles (hundreds, not thousands); if your application sees frequent field reconnections, this plating is adequate. If it's a one-time install, a tin-plated sibling would save cost — but the gold is already spec'd here.
Right-Angle Orientation — Board Layout Fit
This is the typical orientation for a board-edge connector where the mating cable or receptacle exits along the board surface — common in mezzanine stacking, expansion cards, or internal wiring harnesses. The post length is 0.305" (7.75mm), which gives enough tail to solder through a standard 0.062" board and still have protrusion for a wave-solder fillet.
