It uses the standard 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch — the same spacing as legacy breadboard and perfboard layouts — and terminates through-hole at a right angle, so the pins run parallel to the PCB surface.

The 0.095" (2.41 mm) insulation height leaves clearance under the header for traces or a ground plane.
Contact finish and durability
Both the mating and post surfaces are tin-plated, with the mating side carrying a 100.0 µ" (2.54 µm) thickness. Tin is a cost-effective finish for moderate mating-cycle applications — it works well in permanent or infrequently disconnected assemblies. The contact length on the mating side is 0.136" (3.45 mm), and the post length below the board is 0.305" (7.75 mm), which gives enough reach for a standard PCB thickness and a solder fillet.
