The Amphenol 68023-422HLF is a 22-position, single-row, unshrouded male pin header from the BERGSTIK® II series. It uses a 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch and a through-hole right-angle mounting orientation, making it a straightforward choice for board-to-board interconnects where the header sits at the edge of the PCB and mates with a matching receptacle parallel to the board. The tin-on-tin contact finish (100.0 µin on the mating side) is rated for 5 A per circuit at 110 V — adequate for signal and moderate power duty in low-cycle applications. The housing is rated UL94 V-0.
The 0.100" pitch is the standard breadboard-compatible grid, so the footprint matches legacy prototyping layouts and common receptacle families. The right-angle solder tails extend 0.305" (7.75 mm) below the board — enough for through-hole soldering on standard 1.6 mm PCBs. The unshrouded design means there is no polarization or keying; the mating receptacle must be aligned by the board layout or by a separate alignment feature. The tin plating on both mating and post surfaces keeps cost low but limits mating cycle life compared to gold — expect a few dozen cycles before contact resistance begins to rise.
