The Amphenol FCI 68024-124HLF is a 24-position, single-row BERGSTIK® II unshrouded header on the standard 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch. It is a through-hole, push-pull board-to-board interconnect with square male pins, gold-plated on the mating surface to 30.0 µ" over phosphor bronze. The black UL94 V-0 housing sits at a 0.100" insulation height, and all 24 positions are loaded. This is the workhorse unshrouded header for prototyping, backplane wiring, and general-purpose board-to-board signal or low-power distribution where the mating half is a standard 0.100" female socket strip.
What the ratings mean for the fit
5 A per contact at 110 V is the rated envelope — enough for signal-level circuits and low-power distribution, but not a power bus. The 0.100" pitch gives a standard footprint that matches a wide range of female receptacles, including dual-row IDC sockets and crimp housings. The 30.0 µ" gold plating on the mating surface buys you several hundred mating cycles in a clean environment; it is not the heavy-duty gold for corrosive or high-cycle field-service applications, but it is a step above the thin flash found on commodity tin-plated headers. The unshrouded, push-pull design means no keying or locking ramp — the board holds the header in place, and the mating force comes from the friction fit of the socket contacts. If vibration is a concern, you will want a secondary retention method or a shrouded header with a latch.
Mating and termination
This header mates with any standard 0.100" pitch female socket strip or crimp housing that accepts square posts — the BERGSTIK II series is designed for broad compatibility.
