Board-to-Board Header, 12 Positions, 0.100" Pitch
The FCI / Amphenol 68405-412HLF is a 12-position, dual-row unshrouded male pin header from the BERGSTIK® II series. It uses the standard 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch on both rows and between rows, making it footprint-compatible with a wide range of legacy board-to-board and wire-to-board interconnect schemes. The through-hole, right-angle orientation places the pins parallel to the PCB, suited for edge-mount or mezzanine applications where the mating connector exits along the board plane.
What the Ratings Mean for Fit
Rated 5 A per contact, this header handles moderate power — enough for relay drives, sensor power, or parallel bus lines — not just logic-level signals. The 110 V voltage rating is typical for this pitch class. The tin-on-tin contact finish (100.0 µin on the mating side) is cost-effective for low-cycle-count applications; it wears faster under frequent mating than gold, so it is best suited for connections that are mated a few times during assembly and left in place. The UL94 V-0 housing is standard for equipment inside an enclosure requiring a flammability rating.
Mating and Termination
This unshrouded header mates with any standard 0.100" pitch female socket housing — either a dual-row IDC receptacle or a crimp-to-wire housing with the matching terminal. The push-pull fastening type means no locking latch; retention depends on the friction of the mating contacts. Termination is through-hole solder, with a post length of 0.095" (2.41 mm) for the solder tail and a mating pin length of 0.230" (5.84 mm). The 0.190" (4.83 mm) insulation height gives clearance for the socket body.
