Current and Temperature – 3A Ceiling with Wide Range
Rated 3A per contact at 25°C ambient — the tin-on-tin interface and phosphor bronze contact material keep contact resistance stable up to that current. The UL94 V-0 housing limits the temperature rise; above 3A the plastic softens and the pin retention drops. The wide range is typical for BERGSTIK® II headers, but the 3A derating curve should be checked above 85°C.
