Board Fit and Footprint
The 68692-448HLF: The unshrouded design means it mates with standard IDC sockets or can be used as a free-standing pin strip for wire-wrapping or point-to-point soldering. Through-hole termination gives a solid mechanical anchor on the board, important when the mating cable assembly will be routinely plugged and unplugged.
Contact Plating and Current Handling
The post finish is also tin, which solders reliably with standard lead-free profiles. Current rating is 3A per contact, which is the practical limit for signal-level circuits at this pitch; derate if all 48 positions are loaded simultaneously at elevated ambient temperatures.
Mechanical and Environmental Ratings
The push-pull fastening type means there is no locking latch — the retention force comes from the friction fit of the pin-socket interface, so this connector is best suited for applications where the mating pair is not subject to continuous vibration.
