The 68695-168HLF is a 68-position, dual-row unshrouded header from the BergStik® II series, Amphenol/FCI's workhorse 0.100" pitch pin strip family. It's a board-to-board interconnect, intended for through-hole soldering into a PCB with the matching receptacle.
The 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch is the standard spacing for BergStik headers — it matches the legacy 0.1-inch grid that dominates prototyping and production PCB layouts. The dual rows are spaced at the same 0.100" pitch, giving a 0.100" x 0.100" grid. The 30.0 µin (0.76 µm) gold plating on the mating surface is the real differentiator here: that thickness supports repeated mating cycles without exposing the phosphor bronze base metal to oxidation. Tin-plated siblings would fretting-corrode under vibration in a fraction of the cycles.
Right-Angle Mounting and Mating
The right-angle through-hole termination places the solder tails 0.090" (2.29 mm) long on the bottom side of the board. The mating pin length is 0.230" (5.84 mm), which gives enough engagement depth for standard BergStik receptacles.
