All 72 positions are loaded with square male pins made of phosphor bronze, plated with a minimum 15.0 µinch (0.38 µm) of gold or GXT on the mating surface.
Selection and fit
The 0.100" pitch and dual-row layout are shared across the BergStik II family, so the footprint is consistent across position counts. The 72-position variant is a dense choice: the two rows of 36 pins each fit a board edge where a single-row 72-pin header would be too long. The right-angle post length is 0.090" (2.29 mm), which fits standard 0.062" PCBs with enough protrusion for a reliable solder fillet.
