Tin-plated contacts on both the mating surface and the post, at 100.0 µin (2.54 µm) thickness on the mating side, are rated 5 A per contact at 110 V. Tin is the workhorse for moderate-cycle applications — it handles the current but wears faster than gold under repeated mating.
It is unshrouded — the pins are exposed with no plastic shroud around them. That means the mating receptacle needs to be designed to align with the bare pins; there is no keying or polarization built into the header itself.
