The Amphenol FCI 68705-415HLF is a 15-position, single-row BergStik® II unshrouded header — a through-hole board-to-board male pin strip at the industry-standard 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch. The tin-plated phosphor bronze contacts carry a 5 A per-pin rating, suited for signal and moderate power duty on a PCB. The unshrouded design keeps the profile low and the board footprint clean, with a 0.200" mating pin length and a 0.095" solder tail for standard plated-through holes.
Ratings and what they mean for the fit
The 5 A per-contact current rating is standard for a 0.100" pitch tin-plated header — the limiting factor is the temperature rise through the contact and the PCB trace, not the contact itself. The 100.0 µin tin mating finish provides good corrosion resistance for moderate environments and a reasonable number of mating cycles, but tin-on-tin interfaces wear faster under repeated insertion than gold. For high-cycle or corrosive-duty applications, a gold-plated variant in the same BergStik II family would be the better call. The UL94 V-0 rating on the black insulation housing confirms the header is acceptable for equipment inside an enclosure requiring a flame-retardant rating — standard for most commercial and industrial PCB assemblies.
Mating and sourcing
This unshrouded header mates with any standard 0.100" pitch female socket strip or IDC receptacle — the push-pull fastening type means no locking latch, so the mating half must rely on friction retention from the contacts. The 15 positions are fully loaded, so the BOM line matches circuit-for-circuit with the mating receptacle.
