The press-fit tail (0.120" post length) allows solderless insertion into plated through-holes — common in backplane assemblies where reflow is impractical. The same part also accepts soldering for standard wave-solder builds.
The square male pins (phosphor bronze) are a standard 0.025" square post — compatible with IDC receptacles, crimp housings, and machined sockets designed for 0.025" posts.
