What the Latch Lock and Keying Slot Do in a Vibration Environment
The 71918-144LF: The latch lock/eject hooks pull the cable plug tight against the header shroud and hold it there under vibration — the eject feature also helps break the friction fit when the harness needs to come apart. A keying slot and mounting flange prevent the wrong cable assembly from being mated and give the board a mechanical anchor point for the connector body. The housing is glass-filled thermoplastic rated UL94 V-0, so the header can sit inside equipment that requires a flammability rating for the enclosure interior.
