The 71918-214LF: Latch lock/eject hooks, short, provide positive retention once mated — the latch clicks into the receptacle housing and requires a deliberate pull on the eject hooks to disengage, which prevents accidental disconnection in equipment subject to vibration or cable strain.
Termination is solder via through-hole mounting. The contact length - mating is 0.228" (5.80mm), giving the mating receptacle ample wipe distance for a clean electrical connection. The header includes a keying slot and mounting flange — the keying slot prevents mismating with non-keyed receptacles, and the mounting flange adds mechanical stability to the through-hole solder joints when the cable assembly is handled or strained. Insulation material is thermoplastic, glass filled, rated UL94 V-0 — the V-0 rating means the material stops burning within 10 seconds after a flame is removed, with no flaming drips.
