The 71918-220LF: A full 4-wall shroud surrounds the pins, protecting them during handling and guiding the mating receptacle into alignment. Short latch lock/eject hooks on both ends provide positive retention against vibration and allow tool-less unmating — a practical feature for harness assembly and field replacement.

The header mounts vertically through the PCB with solder tails measuring 0.114" (2.90mm) long — enough for a standard 1.6mm board with good solder fillet. A keying slot and mounting flange are included for polarization and mechanical securement to the board. The square phosphor bronze pins provide good spring properties and solderability.
