The 74355-1042LF: The shielded construction, combined with a dedicated ground pin, reduces radiated EMI coupling, which matters in industrial control cabinets or near switching power supplies.
The 0.100" pitch and 2-row layout are standard, but the shielded shell and ground pin are specific to this variant; a non-shielded receptacle may not seat fully.
It mates with a LATCH-N-LOK™ receptacle (cable-side housing) that uses the same latch holder fastening. The receptacle must be a shielded, 2-row, 0.100" pitch design to match the header's shell and ground pin geometry. Confirm the receptacle part number includes a latch feature — a non-locking receptacle will not engage the header's latch holder.
