What This Connector Is
The 75844-102-10LF is a 10-position, dual-row unshrouded breakaway header from the Amphenol BERGSTIK® series. It uses the standard 0.100" (2.54mm) square pin grid, making it a drop-in fit for any board laid out on that pitch. The unshrouded design means the pins are exposed after soldering, which keeps the mated stack height low and gives you access to the solder joints for inspection or rework.
Key Ratings and What They Mean for Your Fit
Rated 5A per contact, with a 110V voltage rating. The 5A figure is per-contact at a given temperature rise; in a dual-row 10-position header, the total current through the connector is limited by the sum of the currents and the ambient temperature, so derate above 25°C. The 0.100" pitch gives enough creepage for the 110V rating without forcing an oversized board footprint — this is a signal-level header, not a power bus. The mating contact finish is 30.0µin gold GXT™ over phosphor bronze. That gold thickness handles repeated mating cycles without the oxidation that plagues tin-plated contacts in low-current or corrosive environments. If this header is going into a field-serviceable assembly where the board gets disconnected more than a few times, the gold is what keeps the contact resistance stable. The housing is rated UL94 V-0, which is the standard flame rating for equipment inside an enclosure. The operating temperature range of -65°C to 130°C covers automotive interior, industrial cabinet, and outdoor telecom applications — the thermoplastic won't soften or become brittle across that span.
Where It's Used and How It Mates
This is a board-to-board or cable-to-board interconnect. As an unshrouded breakaway header, it mates with any standard 0.100" pitch IDC socket, crimp receptacle, or female header — the breakaway feature lets you snap it to the exact position count you need. The through-hole solder termination gives a strong mechanical anchor on the PCB, and the push-pull fastening means no locking latch; the retention comes from the friction of the mating contact.
