The Amphenol FCI 75844-118-12LF is a 12-position, dual-row unshrouded male pin header from the BERGSTIK® series, on the standard 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch.
The 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch and 0.100" row spacing are the industry-standard grid for this class of header — the board footprint is a drop-in for any 0.100" pitch receptacle, and the dual-row layout gives 12 positions in a compact 0.200" x 0.600" body. The 0.120" (3.05 mm) solder post length suits typical 1.6 mm PCBs; for thicker boards the post may need a longer-tail variant. The 30 µ" gold GXT™ plating is the key differentiator from tin-plated siblings — it maintains contact resistance below 10 mOhm through 200+ mating cycles, whereas tin would gall and oxidise after 50 cycles. The 5 A per circuit rating is conservative for the 0.100" pitch and 30 µ" gold contact; derate above 85°C per the manufacturer's curve.
Unshrouded design and board layout
This is an unshrouded header — the pins are exposed above the insulation body. The trade-off is a lower profile (0.100" insulation height) and unobstructed probe access for test points. On the board, the through-hole solder joints provide stronger pull-off resistance than an SMT header, important when the cable is routed near the connector.
