GXT is Amphenol's enhanced gold alloy, harder than pure gold – it resists adhesive wear through repeated insertions. For a harness that sees quarterly field disconnect, that plating grade supports well over a hundred mate cycles before the base metal is exposed. The post tails are tin-plated – tin wets well in wave solder and is compatible with lead-free SAC alloys.
