A friction lock on the header provides moderate retention against the mating half — enough to keep the connection secure under vibration in industrial control panels or test equipment, without the need for a separate locking clip.
Pitch, footprint, and board layout
The 0.134" (3.40mm) solder tail length is typical for a standard 1.6mm-thick PCB — the tail protrudes enough for a reliable through-hole solder joint without bottoming out on the board. Overall contact length is 0.411" (10.44mm), with a 0.197" (5.00mm) mating length that engages the receptacle contact beam fully. The insulation height of 0.368" (9.35mm) leaves clearance underneath for passives or traces on the top layer.
The copper alloy contact material provides good conductivity and spring properties. The tin post finish is compatible with lead-free soldering processes (RoHS compliant per).
RoHS compliant. The UL94 V-0 rating is a standard flame-retardance certification for equipment inside an enclosure.
Within the same Dubox 76385 series, the 76385-408LF (16 positions) sits between the 10-position 76385-405LF and the 18-position 76385-409LF. All share identical 0.100" pitch, 2-row layout, friction lock, tin plating, and 3 A rating. The choice is purely position count — the footprint grows by 0.100" per added pair of positions.
