The mating finish is 15.0µin gold or GXT™ over phosphor bronze contacts — this thickness supports moderate mating cycle duty, typically 200–500 cycles depending on the mating receptacle's contact design. The post finish is tin-lead at 150.0µin, which solders reliably into plated through-holes but is not RoHS-compliant (see FAQ).

As an unshrouded header with push-pull fastening, it relies on the mating receptacle's latch for retention. In vibration-prone environments, consider a shrouded header or a locking receptacle to prevent disconnection.
