Right-Angle Breakaway for Tight Board Edges
The breakaway design means the header is part of a multi-position strip that can be snapped to length. This 3-position variant is a factory-defined length, not a snapped piece — the pin count is fixed at 3, all positions loaded.
The 0.100" pitch sets the PCB hole pattern: 0.025" square pins on 0.100" centers. In a right-angle orientation, this dimension matters for clearance under a parallel board or enclosure lid.
Tin vs Gold: When the Finish Matters
The gold option raises the mating cycle rating to 500+ cycles and resists fretting corrosion in vibration or thermal cycling. For a fixed harness that mates once during assembly, the tin finish on this 3-position part is adequate.
