The 79257-442HLF: Row spacing is also 0.100" (2.54 mm), giving a 2×21 grid that occupies roughly 1.0" × 0.4" of board area. The unshrouded design means the mating half slides directly over the pins without a guide frame — alignment relies on the receptacle housing and board placement.
Current and Contact Rating
Tin is adequate for low-vibration, low-cycle applications such as internal board interconnects in stationary equipment. The contact material is phosphor bronze, which provides good spring retention and corrosion resistance in non-sealed environments.
Mating and Assembly
This is a push-pull fastening type — no locking latch. For applications with shock or continuous vibration, consider a shrouded header with a latch or add a secondary retention mechanism. All 42 positions are loaded — no optional empty slots.
