The FCI (Amphenol) 79425-152HLF is a 52-position unshrouded male pin header from the BERGSTIK® II series, designed for board-to-board stacking or wire-to-board connections via a mating receptacle. It uses the standard 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch and row spacing, which means it drops into the same footprint as legacy square-post headers — a direct fit for any 0.100" pitch IDC socket or pin receptacle strip. The 30.0µin gold or GXT™ plating on the mating surface gives it a solid 5 A per contact rating with good cycle life for moderate-use backplanes or test fixtures.
Pitch, footprint, and what it mates with
At 0.100" pitch and 0.100" row spacing, this header is footprint-compatible with the vast installed base of 0.100" IDC sockets, crimp receptacles, and board-to-board receptacles. The unshrouded design means the pins are exposed — no shroud to key or protect against mis-mating, so the mating half needs to be aligned by the board layout or a separate alignment feature. The 0.190" mating pin length gives good wipe in a standard 0.230" to 0.250" deep receptacle.
Plating and current rating — what the numbers mean
The 30.0µin gold or GXT™ on the mating surface is the deciding factor for duty cycle. At that thickness you get reliable low-contact-resistance through several hundred mating cycles in a clean indoor environment — fine for production test boards or modular instrumentation. The 5 A per contact rating is per the manufacturer's spec at room temperature; derate it if the board runs warm or if more than half the pins carry current simultaneously. The UL94 V-0 black housing is standard for equipment inside an enclosure.
