The Amphenol FCI 79425-448HLF is a 48-position dual-row unshrouded header from the BERGSTIK® II series, built for board-to-board stacking on a standard 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch.
It can handle moderate power distribution — say, a few amps per pin on a backplane or a dense signal harness — but the tin-on-tin contact interface (100 µ" on the mating side) limits repeated mating cycles compared to gold. For a one-time install or infrequent disconnect, tin is cost-effective and reliable. The phosphor bronze base metal gives good spring retention over temperature. Unshrouded means there is no polarisation key or shroud wall to guide the mating receptacle. The alignment relies entirely on the board layout and the mating header's post length. That keeps the cost low but demands care during assembly — a misaligned mate can bend pins. The 0.190" mating contact length gives enough wipe for a solid connection.
