BergStik II 79821-148HLF — 48-Position Unshrouded Header
The unshrouded design gives you access to the pins from three sides, which simplifies routing and probing during bring-up, but leaves the contacts exposed — so the mating receptacle needs to provide its own polarization or keying. Rated 5A per contact at 110V, with 30.0µin (0.76µm) gold plating on the mating surface, this header is built for signal-level interconnects and moderate power distribution across the board. The through-hole solder tails extend 0.200" (5.08mm) below the insulator, with an overall contact length of 0.730" (18.54mm). The insulator stands 0.100" (2.54mm) off the board surface, keeping the mated interface low-profile.
In a high-vibration environment, consider a shrouded header or a receptacle with a locking ramp to keep the pair mated. Termination is solder-only — the through-hole pins are designed for wave or hand soldering. The 0.200" (5.08mm) post length gives enough protrusion for a good solder fillet on a standard 1.6mm PCB without bottoming out against the board.
