Fit and Footprint
The 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch and 0.100" (2.54mm) row spacing are the standard DIP footprint — the same spacing as legacy through-hole ICs and proto boards. The 0.430" (10.92mm) mating pin length gives enough reach to engage a standard socket strip, and the 0.200" (5.08mm) post length suits a typical 1.6mm PCB.
