The Amphenol ICC 79821-440HLF is a 40-position (2x20) unshrouded male pin header from the BERGSTIK® II series, built on the industry-standard 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch. It is a board-to-board interconnect component designed for through-hole solder termination to a PCB. The header carries a 5A per contact current rating at a 110V voltage rating, with all 40 positions loaded.
The 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch and dual-row layout with 0.100" (2.54mm) row spacing place this header on a standard grid that matches legacy perf-board patterns and common IDC socket footprints. The overall contact length of 0.730" (18.54mm) breaks down into a 0.430" (10.92mm) mating length and a 0.200" (5.08mm) solder post length, which sets the board-to-board stack height when mated with a standard receptacle.
The through-hole solder termination is straightforward for wave or hand-solder assembly; the 0.200" (5.08mm) post length provides adequate protrusion through the board for a reliable solder fillet on standard 0.062" PCBs.
For volume builds, the bag packaging (tray or tube equivalent) means it feeds into a standard through-hole assembly line without special handling — no reel, but no MSL concern either.
