The long latch lock/eject hooks on both ends snap into the mating housing cutouts and provide a mechanical advantage when un-mating—pulling evenly across the connector face rather than torquing one corner.
The mating contacts carry a gold or gold-palladium finish over copper alloy. The gold-palladium option adds corrosion resistance in sulfur-rich or high-humidity environments where standard gold might tarnish. The PBT housing carries UL94 V-0 flammability rating, so the header can be used in equipment that requires a flame-retardant enclosure.

It ships in tray packaging, which protects the pins and latch hooks during transport and is compatible with pick-and-place for hand-loading or low-volume assembly.
Vertical through-hole, 0.114" post length
The through-hole termination uses a 0.114" (2.90mm) solder post length, suitable for standard 1.6mm PCBs with plated through-holes. The keying slot in the header prevents mis-mating with non-keyed or wrong-key receptacles.
