Board-to-board header, 38 positions, 0.100" pitch
It uses a 0.100" (2.54mm) square-pin grid on both pitch and row spacing, making it a drop-in fit for standard 0.100" footprint patterns common in prototyping and production board-to-board interconnects. The through-hole termination with a 0.120" (3.05mm) post length suits standard PCB thicknesses, and the 0.250" (6.35mm) mating pin length gives good wipe before the contacts bottom out.
As an unshrouded header with a push-pull fastening type, the 86503-138HLF mates with any standard 0.100" pitch dual-row female socket or IDC receptacle that accepts 0.025" square pins. The square male pin contact shape is the industry-standard 0.025" post, compatible with crimp sockets, machined pin receptacles, and ribbon-cable IDC connectors from multiple manufacturers. Termination is solder-only — through-hole soldering to the PCB. No press-fit or compliant-pin option on this variant. The 0.120" (3.05mm) post length gives enough protrusion for wave or hand soldering on standard 0.062" boards.
