The 0.100" (2.54mm) row spacing mirrors the pitch, giving a clean 0.100" x 0.100" grid that matches legacy perfboard and standard DIP footprints — useful for prototyping or replacing an existing header on a mature board layout. All 8 positions are loaded, so there's no unpopulated pin to track. The phosphor bronze contact material gives good spring properties for consistent normal force over those cycles.
