What This Connector Is
The FCI 86837-122HLF is a 22-position, dual-row unshrouded header from the BERGSTIK® II series, designed for board-to-board interconnect. It uses a 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch on both rows and between rows — a standard footprint that matches a wide range of IDC sockets and receptacles. The male square pins are through-hole soldered, with a 0.120" (3.05mm) post length for the PCB side.

Rated 5A per contact at 110V, this header is suited for signal-level interconnect and light power distribution within a board stack. The 30.0µin (0.76µm) gold plating on the mating surface is a significant spec — it supports repeated mating cycles and resists corrosion in environments where tin would frett. The unshrouded design means there is no plastic wall around the pins; alignment and polarisation depend entirely on the mating housing, so the board layout must account for that.
