Product Overview
The Amphenol FCI 86837-156HLF is a 56-position, dual-row BergStik® II unshrouded header on the standard 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch grid.
The 0.100" pitch and 0.100" row spacing are the de facto standard for prototype boards and perfboard — any 0.1" grid PCB will accept this header without a custom footprint. The 56 positions (all loaded) fill a dual-row layout 2.8" long, so check your board edge clearance before routing. The 30.0 µ" gold is a step above the standard 15 µ" flash — expect 200+ mating cycles before wear-through becomes a concern. The through-hole solder termination gives a stronger mechanical anchor than SMT for a header this long — the 0.120" (3.05 mm) post length is long enough for a good solder fillet on a standard 0.062" board.
Mating & Termination
The square 0.025" pins accept crimp-to-wire or insulation-displacement receptacles from the same series. The 0.600" (15.24 mm) overall contact length means the header stands 0.380" above the board before mating; after mating, the stack height depends on the receptacle chosen.
