The 86837-412HLF: The tin-plated mating finish (100 µinch thick) keeps contact resistance low for the first several hundred mates — appropriate for production assemblies that don't cycle repeatedly in the field.

This is the standard footprint for 0.100" dual-row receptacles — the board layout is identical to a 12-pin box header minus the shroud keep-out zone. Through-hole termination means the post protrudes 0.120" below the board — the solder fillet forms on the bottom side. No SMT reflow profile required; wave or hand solder is standard.
