BERGSTIK II 42-Position Unshrouded Header
The Amphenol/FCI 87052-442HLF is a 42-position, dual-row unshrouded header from the BERGSTIK® II series, designed for board-to-board interconnect applications. It uses the industry-standard 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch on both rows and between rows, making it footprint-compatible with a wide range of legacy through-hole layouts and IDC ribbon-cable receptacles. Rated 5A per contact at 110V, this header carries signal-level to light-power duty — enough for logic-level distribution, GPIO bussing, or low-current peripheral power, but not a bus-bar replacement. The tin-on-tin contact finish (100.0µin on the mating side) keeps unit cost low, though it limits mating-cycle life compared to gold-plated alternatives; for a one-time board-stacking assembly or low-cycle field service, it is a cost-effective choice. The housing is molded from UL94 V-0 rated material, satisfying the flammability requirement for equipment installed inside an enclosure. The push-pull fastening type and unshrouded design mean the header relies on the mating receptacle's retention features — no secondary locking latch on this half.
Mating and Termination
This is the male pin header half of a board-to-board interconnect. It mates with a 42-position, 0.100" pitch dual-row receptacle housing (such as the BERGSTIK II socket strip series). Termination is through-hole solder — the 0.120" (3.05mm) solder tail length suits standard 0.062" to 0.093" PCB thickness. The 0.770" (19.56mm) mating pin length provides ample wipe for reliable contact in stacked-board assemblies.
