The 0.100" pitch is the de facto standard for 0.025" square pin headers — the board footprint is a 32-position single-row through-hole pattern with 2.54 mm between centres. The 5 A per-contact rating is a per-circuit maximum under a 30 °C temperature rise; for a 32-position header carrying current on all pins, the total current through the connector is limited by the sum of the contact resistances and the PCB trace capacity, not the individual contact rating alone.
Plating and compliance
Both the mating and post surfaces are tin-plated (100.0 µin on the mating side), with a UL94 V-0 black insulation housing. Tin-on-tin contacts are suited for applications with fewer than 25–50 mating cycles; beyond that, fretting corrosion can increase contact resistance.
