The through-hole solder termination and 0.720" (18.29mm) mating pin length provide a secure mechanical and electrical connection for stacked or parallel PCB layouts.
Tin-Plated Contacts for Cost-Effective Signal and Power Duty
Both the mating and post contact surfaces are finished with 100.0µin (2.54µm) of tin over phosphor bronze base metal. The 5A per circuit current rating is sufficient for signal lines and moderate power distribution, but the tin-on-tin interface means the connector should not be used in high-vibration or corrosive environments where gold plating would be specified.
