Board-to-Board Header for Standard 0.100" Pitch Designs
With an overall contact length of 0.940" (23.88mm) and a mating contact length of 0.720" (18.29mm), the header provides enough standoff for the mating receptacle's insulation body to clear the board surface. The 0.120" (3.05mm) solder tail length suits standard 0.062" to 0.093" PCB thicknesses.
Mating and Footprint Compatibility
This unshrouded header mates with any standard 0.100" pitch female socket strip or IDC receptacle that accepts 0.025" square pins — the same footprint used by legacy BergStik, Samtec, and 3M headers. The 16 positions are fully loaded (all positions populated), so the pinout is a straight 1:1 through the two rows. Row A occupies positions 1-8 on one side, Row B positions 9-16 on the other, following the standard Berg pin numbering convention. For board layout, the 0.100" x 0.100" grid means the footprint is a 2x8 array of 0.040" plated-through holes on 0.100" centers, with row-to-row spacing also at 0.100". No keep-out zone around the header is required since it is unshrouded — adjacent components can sit right up to the pin rows. The black insulation body stands 0.100" (2.54mm) above the board surface.
