The FCI 87901-168HLF is a 68-position, dual-row unshrouded header from the BERGSTIK® II series, designed for board-to-board interconnect applications. It uses a 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch with matching 0.100" row spacing, so the PCB footprint matches the standard 0.100" grid. All 68 positions are loaded, making this a full-population header for high-density signal routing. Rated at 5 A per contact and 110 V, it handles moderate signal or low-power duty in a board stack. The 30.0 µin gold or GXT™ plating on the mating surface gives it the cycle life for repeated connect-disconnect in testing or field service, while the phosphor bronze contact material provides consistent spring force over time. The through-hole solder termination with a 0.120" (3.05mm) post length suits standard PCB thicknesses. The overall contact length of 1.040" (26.42mm) and a mating length of 0.820" (20.83mm) define the stack height budget when mated with a matching receptacle.
Unshrouded design and board layout fit
This is an unshrouded header, meaning there is no plastic wall around the pins. The board layout engineer gets a smaller footprint than a shrouded equivalent, but the pins are exposed and need careful handling during assembly and mating. The push-pull fastening type means no locking latch — the mating receptacle relies on friction fit alone, so vibration resistance depends on the receptacle's own retention. The insulation height of 0.100" (2.54mm) keeps the header low-profile above the board surface. The black UL94 V-0 housing meets the flame rating required for equipment inside an enclosure.
