Where it fits
The 2-position, 2-row layout means each row holds one pin — a 2x1 arrangement. That makes it a natural fit for a single differential pair, a power-and-return circuit, or a board-stacking interconnect where only two signals need to cross. The unshrouded push-pull fastening keeps the footprint small and the assembly cost low, but there is no keying or polarization beyond the pin pattern itself.
The BERGSTIK II series is widely used, so matching the BOM position count and the mating half (a standard female socket header) is straightforward.
