The Amphenol/FCI 87916-124HLF is a 24-position, single-row, unshrouded BergStik® II header on the standard 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch. It is a through-hole, board-to-board interconnect — the pins are square male pins in phosphor bronze, with 30.0 µ" gold on the mating surface and a tin solder tail. The 0.830" (21.08 mm) mating length gives good reach into a standard box or shrouded receptacle, and the overall pin length of 1.058" (26.87 mm) lets it sit tall off the board. Rated 5 A per contact at 110 V, with a UL94 V-0 black insulator. This is the fully loaded 24-position member of the BergStik II family — every position is populated, no skipped circuits.
What the 5 A and 30 µ" Gold Mean for Fit
The 5 A per-contact rating is a signal-level current — enough for power distribution on a small board or for driving logic-level loads, but not sized for a bus-level DC rail. The 30 µ" gold plating on the mating side is the important spec: that thickness supports repeated mating cycles (hundreds of cycles) without wear-through, and it resists corrosion in humid or mildly aggressive environments. Tin-plated versions of the same header would cost less but would limit you to a few mating cycles before the tin frets. The 0.100" pitch is the legacy footprint — any standard 0.100" pitch receptacle, either a BergStik or a compatible IDC socket, mates directly.
Mating and Termination
This is a male pin header — it mates with any standard 0.100" pitch female receptacle, such as a BergStik socket housing or an IDC ribbon cable socket. The push-pull fastening means no locking latch; retention comes from the friction of the pin-socket interface. Termination is solder to the board through the through-hole posts (0.128" / 3.25 mm post length). The unshrouded design leaves the pins exposed, which is useful for board-edge access or for probing during test, but offers no polarization keying — a mating connector can be installed in either orientation unless a keying feature is added in the receptacle.
